FAQs
1. Why are we doing this?
OUR MISSION …changing how people think, both inside and outside the church.
The Weekend of Service provides us the opportunity to grow as disciples by getting out and actively showing people the love of Jesus. By cancelling church and tackling major projects, we are learning that church is about more than just the four walls. Throughout the year, people from North Coast Church already serve all over our community, but the Weekend of Service is our chance to make a huge splash by tackling major projects. We want to show our community the love and support of North Coast Church, and honor the name of Jesus.
2. How do I sign up?
You can sign up online NOW or on all campuses during weekend services starting September 27th. Don't wait! Projects fill up fast.
3. I've never done anything like this before. Where do I start?
We have a project for everyone! You can browse projects by city or type, and please note that many of our projects do not require any particular skill - just a willing heart and a pair of hands. We even offer "Light Duty" and "Family Friendly" projects. Sign up for a morning or afternoon time slot on either day, and wait to hear more from your Project Manager. We're here to help you. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call us at (760) 724-6700.
4. What about kids? Can we bring them along?
Yes! Look for a "Family Friendly" project, or even one of the special "Children's Area" projects where your kids can work alongside you or tackle an age-appropriate project in the "Children's Area." Kids can make a great addition to the serving team, provided the projects match their maturity and skills. You'll know best what project will be a good fit for your family. As a Growth Group, you may decide to designate someone to stay with very young children, so everyone else can be free to serve. Limited childcare is available Sunday 10/26 on the Melrose Campus - you must sign up for it. Cost is $10 per child. More info>>>
5. Where will the projects be located?
All projects will be conducted in North San Diego County cities, including Carlsbad, Fallbrook, San Marcos, Oceanside, Vista, Escondido and Camp Pendleton.
6. Do participants get t-shirts?
T-shirts will be available with a $5 donation, but are not required to serve. Yes, you can wear your shirt from last year!
7. Can I sign up for any service project?
Yes. Anyone can sign up for any service project. And you can sign up for more than one shift and more than one project. In fact, many of the Saturday volunteers last year were so excited about seeing the project through-- they came back on Sunday to help! It's fun to meet and work alongside new faces for the common goal of serving our community.
